Important Update for Italy Customers Import Handling Fee from January 2026

Posted by Paulius Aganauskas on

We’d like to inform our customers in Italy about an upcoming customs change that will affect orders shipped from the UK.

According to guidance published by Royal Mail, EU customs authorities will continue applying an import handling fee on parcels arriving from non-EU countries, including the UK.

What applies in Italy?

  • From 1 January 2026, parcels delivered to Italy will be subject to an import handling fee of €2 per parcel

  • This applies to orders with a value of €150 or less

  • The fee applies even when VAT has already been paid via IOSS

  • The charge is set and collected by Italian customs / the local postal service

  • Payment is the responsibility of the customer

What does this mean for your order?

This fee is not charged by us and cannot be included at checkout. It will be requested by the courier or postal service before or at delivery. If the fee is not paid, the parcel may be delayed, returned, or not delivered.

This is part of wider EU customs reforms and applies to all non-EU sellers, not just our store.

We recommend factoring in this additional cost when placing an order to avoid any surprises at delivery.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us — we’re always happy to help.
